We love the 70’s and we are glad it’s back, so how do you bring that look to your summer without looking like a dated extra?

Well, we know rules are meant to be broken (even in fashion) so we feel that there is only one rule you need to avoid looking like you could have been in your mother’s class photos, and that is to have two modern pieces on show.

In our look of the week, we wanted to do a subtle tribute to burnt orange, one of the very colours that defined that era. By keeping the style of the shoes and handbag modern we could pretty much go all the way from the earrings to the scarf and still look like it’s 2011!

The scarf and brooch were provided by the Vintage Scarf.

So here ‘s our look…

Darling Beatrice tunic, £41.97

All it takes is a few well-chosen vintage pieces paired with some modern touches to produce the coveted modern bohemian look. If you start with a 70s peasant dress, like our Beatrice Tunic (to be worn with flesh coloured tights or bare legged if you decide to be brave) you can pair it with some vintage jewellery and a scarf, but the modern elements will produce an eclectic yet fashionable ensemble. Whatever you do just keep it balanced.
